Berbicara mengenai layar smartphone tidak luput dari perbincangan mana yang lebih baik, mana yang lebih bagus, mana yang lebih hemat batterai dan masih banyak lagi pertanyaan-pertanyaan yang sering kita pikirkan. Sebenarnya ada bermacam-macam tipe layar yang saat ini di pakai di smartphone, namun kebanyakan dari pembuat smartphone hanya menggunakan 4 tipe layar saja yakni AMOLED, OLED, TFT dan IPS, nah disini saya akan menjelaskan secara singkat dan jelas perbedaan tersebut.
Apa itu layar OLED ?
OLED adalah sebuah layar yang paling banyak digunakan pada seri smartphone Lumia, OLED sendiri memiliki keunggulan dalam hal warna yang mendekati natural. Selain itu jenis layar ini sangat responsif saat digunakan sebagai layar sentuh. OLED kepanjangan dari Organic Light Emitting Diode juga mempunyai ke unggulan dalam hal kecerahan serta viewing angles yang jauh melewati jenis layar lain. Tidak heran jika hampir semua smartphone buatan Nokia/Microsoft menggunakan layar jenis OLED.
Apa itu Layar AMOLED ?
Active-Matrix Organic Light-Emitting Diode atau biasa disebut dengan AMOLED adalah sebuah layar yang merupakan pengembangan dari OLED yang Saya jelaskan diatas. Pada dasarnya ke unggulan yang ada di OLED sudah sepenuhnya hadir di AMOLED, bahkan sudah jauh lebih baik peningkatannya. Nokia adalah salah satu brand smartphone yang paling banyak menggunakan layar ini di ponsel high-end nya. Ke unggulan yang mencolok pada layar ini adalah komsumsi baterai yang sudah jauh lebih
Apa itu layar Super AMOLED ?
Super AMOLED adalah salah satu layar yang banyak digunakan oleh pembuat smartphone mid-end. Layar jenis sendiri diciptakan oleh produsen teknologi Samsung sebagai penyempurnaan dari AMOLED. Pada dasarnya layar jenis ini tidak memerlukan tambahan lapisan karena Samsung telah menempatkan sensor yang akan terintegerasi pada layar secara langsung. Karena tidak memerlukan tambahan lapisan, layar jenis ini dapat menghasilkan gambar yang lebih cerah dari jenis layar lainnya.
Apa itu layar TFT ?
Thin-film Transistor disingkat dengan TFT, merupakan salah satu tipe layar Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) yang datar, di mana tiap-tiap pixel dikontrol oleh satu hingga empat transistor. Teknologi ini menyediakan resolusi terbaik dari teknik panel data. Layar TFT sering disebut juga active-matrix LCD. Layar ini dapat menampilkan gambar yang kaya warna tapi mahal. Dan permukaannya sensitif terhadap sentuhan. Selain itu layar ini tidak cocok untuk tampilan yang eksak seperti misalnya untuk CAD.
Jenis layar ini sangat umum ditemukan di smartphone kelas low-end dan mid-end, selain harganya yang leratif lebih murah layar jenis ini juga terbilang lebih baik dari pada LCD yang kini mulai ditinggalkan. Namun layar jenis ini banyak memakan baterai sehingga smartphone yang menggunakan jenis layar ini relatif boros baterai. Selain boros baterai kekurangan yang lainnya adalah viewing angles yang terbatas sehingga terbatas jika berada di luar ruangan.
Apa itu layar IPS LCD ?
Pada dasarnya layar IPS LCD adalah jenis layar yang setingkat dengan jenis TFT, namun meskipun setingkat sudah pasti ada perbedaan nya di antara kedua jenis layar ini. Layar IPS LCD bisa dibilang sebagai penerus dari TFT, masalah minimnya viewing angles yang terbatas dan penggunaan baterai yang cukup boros sudah teratasi di IPS LCD. Namun sayangnya harga untuk jenis layar ini relatif cukup mahal, tidak heran jika hanya beberapa smartphone saja yang menggunakan jenis layar ini.
